Favorite thing: The largest icefield south of Alaska the COLUMBIA ICEFIELDS cover some 389 square kilometres (233 sq. mi.). Though Hans and I did not go on it, an exciting 55 minute Snocoach Tour will take you out onto the Athabasca Glacier for an awe-inspiring glimpse of icy crevasses. Visit the Icefield Interpretive Centre for informative exhibits and slide shows.

Fondest memory: The accompanying picture shows the part of the Columbia Icefields basin where overflow water gathers. In the background is Mount Kitchener (elevation 3505 metres)

We did the sno-coach tour as we thought we would never have the chance again. It was good!
