Its a magnificient imposing church. In my memories it will always be "the big white church"! Its construction was finished in 1883. In 1931 it was demolished to build a huge palace of Soviet. In front of it a statue of Lenin should have been erected, which would have been bigger than the Statue of Liberty in New York. The project was abandoned. On the occasion of the 850th Anniversary of the founding of Moscow, the church has been rebuilt exactly as it was before...fortunately!
