  The Rathaus

The Rathaus, built in 1320 is a beautiful addition to the medieval centre and well worth a closer inspection. There is a Roland statue on the left hand side of the Rathaus that dates back from 1426, the year Quedlinburg joined the Hanseatic league. This Roland is minus the chastity belt that is on its counterpart in Bremen. The small hound above the entrance is the citys symbol and is said to protect all those who enter.
