"Mushrooms" Moena Things to Do Tip by LosiCa

Moena Things to Do: 3 reviews and 3 photos

The "porcino," one of the best mushrooms there is!
by LosiCa

The season for mushrooms lasts all summer and into the fall. You must be sure you know what you're looking for, so as not to pick the wrong ones, however! In any case, there is a service of the Moena Forest Rangers who will examine your mushrooms, tell you if they're good or not, and even explain some interesting facts on how to pick them, etc. This service is twice a week, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 5 to 6 at the City Hall in the town center (but ask at the tourist office because this could change), and it's free. Unfortunately, the license you need to hunt is NOT free. Be sure to get it because the fines are high. Also, try to search on week days because weekends are crowded.

Directions: A mushroom hunter will NEVER tell you where he/she goes for the goods! :-)
