A nothing boat, an unbelieveable story
by iandsmith

It's just a boat, a sailing one at that. Doesn't even look that good.
Acrohc Australis is its name.
At 3.6 metres long, this is the smallest yacht everto sail around the world. It was designed and built out of aluminium by Serge Testa from Brisbane, who spent 500 days at sea in the boat during a three year voyage which ended in 1987. Dwell on that for a moment. Alone in a pathetically small craft on your own for a year and a half. What do you eat, what happens when your craft is overturned by huge antarctic swells, how do you stop yourself from going mental?
27,000 nautical miles he travelled in this best and he wrote a book about his exploit titled "500 days".
The name "Acrohc" is Italian dialect for "silly little thing".
You can see the craft these days in the Queensland Museum.
