Lilliget Feast House: "Fancy something non asian in Vancouver?" Liliget Feast House [CLOSED] Tip by aqazi
Liliget Feast House [CLOSED], Vancouver: 2 reviews and 2 photos
This is one of the only native american restaurants in Canada let alone BC. Coming here is a real treat, service and food are of the best quality and its a change from the normal chinese or indian (east) cuisine that you find every where in VanC.
The restaurant itself is located on Davie on the Stanley Park end and is actually situated in a basement. The table are great almost set into the floor and the seating almost fells like you're sitting on the floor too but the clever design hides the footwells beneath the table.
The decor is simple but there are numerous amerindian paintings on the wall and the music reflects the native theme.
Food was excellent, we went for the Potlach platter and 3 of us shared a platter for 2 which includes Duck, oysters, mussels, duch, venison, wildrise, salads and some great smokey buffalo sausages yummm.
For desert there were lots of conventional options and one that was truly authentic with a story that with it. So for dessert make sure at least one person goes for the soapberry mouse ( can't remember the proper name) and make sure you dip your spoon in first like the chief.
We went with an out of towner and would probably return whenever we have some other visitors from overseas or other privinces. I'm not sure we'd go again on our own thought as the biggest selling point is the novelty factor. However there's no denying that this is the best opportunity you'll get to try something trully local.
