"Fö tér" Obuda District Tip by belgianchocolate

Obuda District, Budapest: 8 reviews and 20 photos

Fö tér is the oldest parth of Budapest I was
told. You need to do some effort to get there.
But the easiest way is by local train HéV

I had this little tourist book that said it was one
of the highlights of Budapest. That is a matter of
taste I guess. The previous tip was about the
Vasarely-muzeum. That is located in the old
and renovated and adjusted stables of
the 'Zichy-Kastély'.

That 'Kastély' is now a cultural center and
some permanent exhibitions. It is a bit
sober on the outside but has its charm.
The scene with the statues with an umbrella
is also a well know image , and you can find
them just around the corner.

It is true , it is a little oasis of old buildings
surrounded by 1960's depressing concrete
You need to see it to believe it.
But is it really worth comming to here?
If you don't have loads of time. Skip it.
I made this picture of the old people catching
a glimps of the sun...

Address: Fö tér.
