The Universidad de Los Andes (ULA) is an interesting building inside which there should be the archaeological museum... I say should becuase we always found it closed. Still, the university is beautiful to visit by itself. The student population in Merida is rougly 37,000 people. There are ten departments and two campuses: the one I visited is the one just off plaza bolivar
