Inter Island ferry and Marlborough Sounds

To get from the South Island to the North Island or vice versa you can either fly, or you can take the boat. I took the boat and I'm glad that I did. The boat will take you through the Marlborough Sounds, a great and unique part of New Zealand. There are lots of little islands here and apart from that nothing. The Sounds are at the northern point of the South Island and go on for a few kilometres untill you reach the open sea. If the weather allows you make sure you take a seat at the roof of the boat. If you're lucky like me you might see some dolphins!!
