The drought continued its stranglehold, bushfires licked greedily at the edges, water was like diamonds on the Kondalilla Falls Circuit while I was there. The 4.6km track wove around the ridge top before dropping to the base of the 80 metre "falls". The rocky watercourse was bare though, the sun and winds stripping the life giving substance from the undergrowth leaving nothing for the stream.
On a good day this would be nice walk, enhanced by the sound of falling water and, though I certainly enjoyed it, I couldn't help but reflect on what could have been.

Directions: 3 kms north of Montville and it's well signposted.
