"And finally the nice parks and promenades of Meran" Meran Things to Do Tip by Anjutka

Meran Things to Do: 9 reviews and 15 photos

Meran became a prominent climatic health resort in the 19th century. This is the reason for the special flair of the town. The area around the Passer is dominated of great Art Nouveau villas and hotels and various installations of a luxurious fin de siecle Habsburg empire health resort. The best are the promenades along the Passer river. The nice climate plus the humidity in the quite narrow small canyon of this river are favourable conditions for lots of exotic plants which are at the Gilf promenade along the right (Western) banks of the river. At some places are maps indicating the location of the most interesting plants.

Directions: Right banks of the Passer river, a short and nice walk upstream from the centre.
