I was leaving Ljubjlana to go to the Triglav National Park. The owner of the pension in Ljub recommended a stop in Skofja Loka. Bus connections were easy and we spent the afternoon in Skofja L. and nearby mountains (rolling hills.)

I loved walking in the old town, spotting so many well-preserved or restored houses. It's a trip back in time, into the Mitteleuropa of the Austro-Hungarian empire (as far as architecture goes, I mean.)
Culture is everywhere, many small art galleries and a certain flair on the part of the inhabitants. We felt welcome. I would say, take lots of pictures, there's something unique at every corner and commercialisation hasn't taken over enough to hide the gems.

We got our hair cut before getting on the bus to Kransjka Gora. Well done and not expensive.
