Long Tail Boat
This is a boat ride with an experience, The boat is long and narrow but it seems very stable. There is a 4 cylinder car motor with a propellor about 3 meters behind it, this works well when you go over rapids and rocky areas where the propellor is lifted out of the water until after the obstruction has passed, it also means that you don't get your feet wet as the boat floats in very shallow water.
The cruise I went on went from Tha Ton to Chaing Rai and passed many rice fields, people in the water fishing or collecting coloured river stones, temples and several hill tribes. there were some spectacular sights and scenery along the way.
