Karlsruhe's Kaiserstrasse is a pedestrian area. But most of the trams are passing there as well. And due to the success of Karlsruhe's public transportation system the tram frequency is enormous (during rush hours about 100 trams per hour).

A tunnel under Kaiserstrasse is projected. But it will take some time until we have a real pedestrian area.

So be careful when walking along this shopping street.
