Dallas Things to Do: 467 reviews and 763 photos

This lovely old neo-classical revival building was originally the home of the First Church of Christ, Scientist whose members first came to Dallas from Boston in 1894. The first service was held in the church in 1912. The building features a Hook & Hastings pipe organ which is operational, stained glass windows, pilasters and gold leaf and was awarded one of the nations top architectural achievements of 2000. Today the building has been restored and renamed as the Sara Ellen and Samuel Weisfeld Center. There is a 450 seat social hall downstairs with a full kitchen and bar. It has become an alternative performing arts space for music, dance and theatre.
