There are two things in the Everglades to be aware (and to be aware of):
Number one is Alligators: not so many and not so easy to spot - you better stay out of the water...
Number two is Mosquitos: a lot of them and almost impossible to avoid.
Make sure your Caravan has its flynets up on the windows and use lots of repellent on you and your clothes.

The Everglades are an interesting Ecosystem. Salt water meets sweet water. Magroves - trees with long roots that can live in salt water make a natural barrier and filter mud and leaves and make new ground. Other plants follow.

It is a refugee for many animals. Especially bird lovers will like it here.

southern part of the mainland.
