Look up, the Senat, Sequoia trees

Sequoia Ntl Park is well known for its mammouth trees.
They exist also in other parts of not only the US, but here we have them together in big groups and also forests.

There are several hiking trails in the area. And this is the best way to explore the surrounding as well as the trees.

The trees are huge. If you walk around one that can take over 30 seconds. The bark is orange brown and often you can find burned parts on it. In the visitor center and on the sign you learn, that this is important for them. The trees can get over 2000 years old.

It is almost impossible to get a whole tree on one picture-too high. You can also not walk away too far, because then there are other trees standing between you and the one you want to photograph.

The smell in these woods is also wonderful. I can hardly describe it, but it is like every wood should smell. Earthy, fresh pines and sometimes a little burned, maybe.
