Karlsruhe does not offer that many interesting sites for tourists. More over, I think the Castle is the only one true monumental spot in this beautiful town.
The Castle was founded 1715 by the ruler Karl-Wilhelm von Baden-Durlach. in fact, he liked this place so much that he decided to move his palace and spend the rest of his life in this peaceful place. For those of you who don't speak German (like me) Karlsruhe means "the resting place of Karl".
And that's how the city became the capital of Baden region.
