"A nation's passion" India Sports & Outdoors Tip by Tijavi

What else but CRICKET . Try to learn this so-called gentleman's game when you're in India, or at least soak up a whole nation's highly infectious passion for the sport. During important matches, say when India plays Pakistan, where national pride is at stake, the atmosphere easily dwarfs that of any World Cup football matches.

As for me, my knowledge of the game has never gone beyond batter-saves-the-wickets-from-the-wicked-pitcher thing. But I certainly did enjoy the fiesta atmosphere of an India-Pakistan match, which at one occasion turned out to be as mournful as a funeral when India lost to Pakistan (but some Indian Muslims were rejoicing!).

Very important tip: Never schedule any important business meeting when an India-Pakistan match is underway as people, including serious executives, would be glued to their TVs. It is close to sacrilege.

Instead, go to a restaurant and watch the match with the locals. Shopping would not be a good idea either as some shops do close for these matches!
