  Tet Monument
by Blatherwick

You can't see the United States Embassy building from which the helocopters left in 1975. That structure was torn down in 1998 to make room for the new U.S. consulate that was opened in 1999.

The only thing in the space occupied by the old embassy is a monument dedicated to the Viet Cong who breached the compound and got in a firefight with the US Marines during the Tet Offensive of 1968.
