View of Pont Alexandre III from the Seine
by Goner

Pont Alexandre III is the most beautiful bridge on the Seine. You'll be able to identify it by the flamboyant statuary that adorns it. In the picture you can see the Grand Palace on the right bank peeking throught the trees. The Pont was built between 1896-1900 to commemorate the 1892 French-Russian Alliance. It was named after Tsar Alexander III, the father of Nicholas II. It was built so not to impede the view of the Champs Elysees or the Ivalides.
