"Swissaver Pass on Railroad" Switzerland Transportation Tip by dianediane

If you're gong to travel around Switzerland, their Swiss rail passes are great. They not only get you on their railroads, but on boats, buses, city funiculars, discounts on some museums and discounts on the spectacular mountain funicular/cable car trips. We figured out that we would have spent $725.00 (U.S.) if we had paid for all our traveling tickets separately. But with the Swisssaver Pass (for 2 people travelng together), we paid a total of $500 (U.S.) It even allowed us to to to Chamonix Mont Blanc, Franc e and return for free!
AND, the ease of just flashing the pass to the conductor on the train when he/she comes by, is such a pleasure. No running to buy tickets before your train leaves, worryng about change for the bus, etc.
Check it out.
