The Texax Discovery Gardens are set on 7.5 acres in the Fair Park complex and are the second oldest botanical institution in Texas.
The gardens were formerly the Dallas Horticulture Centre. There is a 2 storey conservatory with tropical plants, as well as outdoor demonstration gardens of 1,000 native and adapted trees and flowers with all year round exhibits on butterflies, bugs and botany in the historic Art Deco building which is typical of the buildings in Fair Park.
