"Come and play at the Penn" Hotel Pennsylvania Tip by andymullet

Hotel Pennsylvania, New York City: 2,594 reviews and 24 photos

Well located hotel for the mid-town area. Excellent for getting about either by walking, the metro or gor grabbing a cab. The room was well equipped with a small fridge, Sat/Cable TV, Ironing board and Tea/Coffee making facilities. The room itself was pretty dowdy and the bathroom had a run down feel about it. I had hoped to get one of the refurbished rooms but this was not to be. In general the room was fine and for the price I would certainly stay here again. For anybody wishing to shop at Maceys (just across the road) you will be well placed.

The hotel does have a small coffee bar, but if you want to eat, get out to one of the many diners or delis located nearby.

Recommended, simple, relatively cheap, well located.

Unique Qualities: The entrance hall/lobby is quite impressive and the hotel used to play host to Glenn Miller and his band during the forties. A small sense of history, but nothing else really remarkable about this place.

Check in, and get out exploring.
