"A Damn Good Soaking" Schloss Hellbrunn Tip by grayfo

Hellbrun Palace was built as a summer residence by prince-bishop Marcus Sitticus. The purpose of our visit was to see the palace’s main attractions, chiefly the surprise fountains in the garden. The bishop had the idea of having them built following a stay in Rome; unfortunately for his visitors he took the surprise to extreme. Unexpectedly, water would suddenly gush out from the stone seats and soak his guests sitting at the table in the Roman theatre – except for the bishop himself, who was greatly amused at the joke. Take care, the guides on my visit shared the bishop’s sense of humour; watch out too for surprises in the various grottos.
