The "Hotel Du Coq" (Het Rooster Hotel) was opened at 22nd of July 1988 and that special day De Haan opened its gate for tourism. The idea to construct a brand new, beach area was carefuly planned, and maybe the crawling of the rooster fortified the city to become a lovely beach town!
