The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier sits just adjacent to the walls of the Kremlin, in Alexander Garden. The Tomb commemorates all the Russian soldiers who fell in defence of their homeland during World War II. The eternal flame was lit on the eve of May 8th, 1967. It is customary for newlywed couples to visit the site, leave flowers on the Tomb, and have their photographs taken. Each day at 12 o'clock the guard is changed, this is a particularly impressive site.

Address: Alexander Garden
