"L'Atelier Brancusi" Le Centre Pompidou Tip by exquisite44

Le Centre Pompidou, Paris: 138 reviews and 250 photos

Most of the works created by the brilliant Romanian artist are displayed at the Atelier Brancusi.

Brancusi was constantly preoccupied by the relation between his sculptures and the space around them.
Towards the end of his life, he stopped producing sculptures, preffering to concentrate on expanding and metamorphosing them with the space. This proximity of the works to each other inside the studio became so essential that in the 1950s the artist refused to sell his work.

He donated his entire creation to the French State under the promise that they will rebuild it following his precise design.
