The famous Meriton Grand buffet is in the hotel's attractive downstairs Resturant Le Paris - just on from the reception desk. It runs from 12:00-15:00 and 18:00-22:00.

The hot buffet, served in huge stainless steel terrines, is astoundingly good value at 95 EEK for lunchtime and 115EEK in the evening.

The dishes are many and varied including grilled meats, schnitzels, stews, fish and plenty of rice and vegetable dishes.

The array is absolutely eye-popping and everything I tasted was delicious. Obviously there is no menu (none is needed) so just ask for the buffet at the door. The courteous and helpful Meriton staff speak good English.

Favorite Dish: There was a lovely, rich pork and red wine stew which I paired up with vegetables and rice.

The schnitzels in mushroom sauce were also v. nice.
