If you come to Monet's house in Giverny and expect to see all of his beautiful paintings, you'll be sorely disappointed. Most of his major works are in the Marmotten Museum and the Musee O'say in Paris, some 73km away!

Adorning a major portion of his walls are beautiful Japanese prints which he kept for observation and inspiration. Does it surprise you? Well, Monet was greatly influenced by the Oriental arts and he often integrated what he had learnt from Japanese art into his paintings and gardens. If you are interested to see the similarity to these Asian prints and Monet's paintings, check out my travelogue
