Old Town - Vanalinn, Tallinn County: 21 reviews and 23 photos

The centre of Tallin is divided into two areas, Toompea (Dome Hill) and the Lower Town both of which are surrounded by the imposing and impressive city walls.

Toompea sits on top of a steep lime stone hill and is the seat of parliament and home to the Estonian government and various embassies. The lower town nestles in the cobbled streets below Toompea.

By day, both are bustling tourist areas full of welcoming bars, cafes, resturants & charming souvenir shops.

But as the daylight fades, the medieval streets begin to light up and revellers gradually pour in to the bars and clubs of the lower town and party through to the early hours.
