As I mentioned before, I found the central part of Singapore to be much more western that Eastern, this is not such a bad thing though, because there are plenty of districts in Singapore that you can visit that are completly Eastern!!
The modern centre if Singapore is dominated by "Orchard Road", this is a huge long strip of shops and cafes, ranging from the Capitalist chains like Planet Hollywood to the small local firms.*
