Taishan Garden Hotel: "Home Hospitality" Taishan Hotel Tip by jlee008

The Taishan Garden Hotel is a three star hotel in Taishan City. This is probably the best hotel in Taishan. There are other hotels that are less expensive, but at $55 US, it is still reasonable for those going home for a visit. There are a couple of convienence features. The first is that there is a restuarant that is right next door that serves decent southern Chinese dishes. The second is that it is situated on a picturesque man-made lake. The service was nice. The hotel is also undergoing renovations, so some of it is blocked off. Be warned though, the beds are hard if you are used to soft cushy mattresses!!

Unique Qualities: Like I mentioned before, there is a large man-made lake. Surrounding the lake is a park that is styled with traditional Chinese garden architecture. The lake directly in front of the hotel is filled with lotus and lilies. It is pleasant to stroll through the park in the morning and watch the locals perform Tai Chi and play traditional opera music.

The hotel also has a decent pool that you can goto. However, there is no lifeguard. There is a bus service available in the lobby of the hotel and the lobby staff speak limited English. There is also a spa service available and internet service available in the lobby. What the hotel lacks it certainly makes up in service!!
