Millennium Cup and Cathedral on the Square
by martin_nl

In the middle of the city is Cathedral Square. The whole city centre of Christchurch is built around this square. It is a busy square and there is lots do do. Colombo Street crosses the square and is one of the main shopping streets of the city. Every weekend there is a market, with food and souvenirs. You can also find the wizard in front of the cathedral for a couple of hours during bith days.

There are a few backpackers hostels on the square and lots of restaurants, shops internet cafés and pubs. You will also find the Visitor's Infromation Centre here, and they can tell you all about the city and it's surroundings and you can make bookings for popular activities on the South Island. They have a very good brochure that will guide you on a couple of very nice walks through the city. Make sure to pick your copy up and start exploring the city.

Address: Cathedral Square
Directions: Cathedral Square is smack in the middle of the city, ask anyone for directions.
