  Nowy Swiat

After Staszica Palace, the street you'll follow south as you continue along the Royal Way is fashionable Nowy Swiat, a long collection of upscale shops, cafes, restaurants, and clubs. Prices are still quite affordable, but this is one of the more posh areas of the city. This part of the Royal Way doesn't actually have much of historical significance unless you count the National Museum and Polish Military Museum located a couple blocks west of Nowy Swiat on A. Jerozolimskie. However, Nowy Swiat should be on your must-see list and makes a great place to stop and sit down at one of the many sidewalk cafes and restaurants for something to eat or drink.

One very important considertion is that Nowy Swiat is closed to automobile traffic on weekends, making it much more enjoyable than during the week when cars, buses, and trucks are constantly zipping past your table and making it difficult to carry on a conversation.

After a nice break on Nowy Swiat you're ready to continue your journey south...
