Favorite thing: Here in Arrowtown, on one of the main corners, right by the old miners' cottages, stands one of the regions old trees. Certainly very old by NZ standards, remembering out history is very young.
This is the MARY COTTER TREE, and was planted in 1867.
I guess it is one of the oldest pioneer planted trees, rather than a native.
Fondest memory: The Mary Cotter Tree is the one in the foreground of the photograph, just out front of the Library.
