  Abraham Lincoln statue
by Dabs

You can find this statue of American president Abraham Lincoln in Parliament Square near Westminster Abbey. Sculpted by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, it's a full-size replica of his original statue in Chicago's Lincoln Park.

I'm not exactly sure what Abraham Lincoln is doing hanging out in London, sure he's acknowledged to be one of our greatest Presidents but there's no British connection that I know of and it's not like you'd find a statue of Queen Victoria in downtown New York City. But it's not nearly as odd as the statue of George Washington in Trafalgar Square, he was the Commander in Chief of the army in the Revolutionary War that resulted in the British being tossed out of the country and the 1st President of the United States....
