The "Slug" is the uncomplimentary name given by those who detest this modern showpice building on the quayside which will be home to The Sages Gateshead music centre. i quite like such modern structures in developments such as this where so much redevelopment has transformed a derelict dock site into a modern marvel. Now put in into the setting of Durham with its lovely old buildings and it would look totally out of place.
