The complex of Bet Gabriel-Rafael in the easterngroup has three halls and two courtyards. Because of its irregular plan it's thought the buildings had first another function, for example the residence of the royal family, before it's converted in a church.

The interior of the buildings is not very special, but the pink outside with the unusual windows with pointed arches, Aksumite style, looks very beautiful.
