"From Riga, to Moscow" Pskov Transportation Tip by yumyum

Bus Riga to Pskov:
I took the day bus from Riga to Pskov which takes all day and only runs in summer. There are also several night buses but only the ecoline one arrives at a decent time in the morning. Cost was 9 Lats (about 14.50 Euro). You arrive at the bus station which is just next to the train station in case you want to buy your onward ticket straight away.

Train to Moscow:
Currently there are 2 night trains, one leaving at 18.00, the other at 22.00, but one of them only runs in summer. Cost for the train no. 10 at 18.00 for kupe was 923 Rubels (close to 30 Euros).

There is a left lugguage (kamera khranenya) in one of the outside buildings which costs 35 R for a piece/day. There are free public toilets behind the building for the local train tickets but I strongly recommend the platni toilets (5 R) inside the modern railway station.

BTW, if you want to travel by train to Kaliningrad from here, the train goes through Belarus. Apparently you can buy the ticket and then go to the information counter where they give you a piece of paper in lieu of a transit visa. Please check this out further before you do so.
