Vilniaus street and the whole Old Town of Kaunas was a mix of Gothic and Renaissance-style structures, as I noticed. What a difference with mostly Baroque Vilnius. Why? Well, look back at the history and gold times of Kaunas in the 14th to the 16th century and Vilnius in the 17th - 18th century. Notice that Vilnius was mostly populated by Poles and belonged to Poland long centuries whereas Kaunas was always deeply Lithuanian. Add Jewish influences in both cities.

Look at this, brick house, on my picture, which reminded me, at least partly, neo-gothic building of the Witkowski Collegium of Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.

Dress Code: June evening was quite warm, long sleeve T- shirt/ blouse was OK for a walk.

Address: Vilniaus gatve 7, LT-3000 Kaunas, Lithuania
Directions: Walk from northeastern corner of Town Hall Square eastwards Vilniaus gatve (street) - the building approx. 200 m on the left.
