"Malta's 3 ***" Qawra Palace Hotel Malta Tip by Xeriss

Qawra Palace Hotel Malta, Malta: 2,333 reviews and 6 photos

I've been twice to this hotel for a weekend break. My first experience was better than the second one!

The first time the room was nicely prepared and the service was excellent. We really had nothing to complain about.

When we called to book for the second time, they warned us that since they were 'tight' there was no way we could have a balcony. The room was dark and dull situated in the lowest corner almost at street level with no view whatsoever.

We wanted a double room and instead got two singles put closely next to each other. The TV remote control they gave us didn't work. We had to ask the reception to change it. The second remote they gave us was binded together with rubber bands!!

The bathroom left much to be desired. The shower did not work properly and the bath itself was full of stains and rust.

Moreover, they have six lifts but only two were operational! Sometimes it took us fifteen minutes to wait for a free lift - on other occasions we just used the stairs.

On the whole, if you book a room at this hotel during low season, it is good value for money. But I wouldn't suggest that you choose this accommodation if you're planning a holiday during high season.

The restaurants of this hotel deserve more than 3 ***. Il-Kaptan is one of the best, offering a variety of pizza and pasta dishes.

Unique Qualities: This hotel has an outdoor pool. The animation they provide for kids (and adults alike) is wonderful. They also have a large slide for the kids with a separate little pool.
