Tony Di Maggio Pizza: "Stromboli" San Jose Restaurant Tip by ajfortino

San Jose Restaurants: 97 reviews and 68 photos

It's one of those restaurants that everyone seems to know about, but you've never seen an advertisement. It's a family restaurant and you know from the time you walk in the door. You always get a friendly welcome whether it's one of the three brothers or mom and dad working and sometimes it can be all of the above. One warning is that this is not a restaurant for vegetarians. There is literally nothing to eat that is vegetarian. Even the sauce has meat in it.

Favorite Dish: The stromboli is something you'll rarely find else where, except in New York. It is pizza dough stuffed with all kinds of meat, cheese and sauce with a touch of mustard. Don't knock it until you've tried it. Everyone I've introduced it to has loved it.
