Most visitors come on day trips, but if you would like to stay over, there are rudimentary accommodations at the Komodo Island ranger center (PHKA camp). Entering the Komodo National Park cost about 20.000 Rp for a stay for 7 days. If you want to stay longer just prolonging. One room/cabin is about 45.000 Rp (one person a night) and be prepared everyting on the island is very basic.

All visitors to the park will only allow 2 choices to stay; at the cabins of the ranger's house or on board of the ship you came with. The ranger's large, spacious wooden cabins have bathroom with western toilet, wooden floor, electricity only available from 1800 - 2100 hrs, cafe, limited running water. Enjoy the balcony, high and safe part of the on stilts built houses.

Unique Qualities: Rely upon very simple houses built on stilts and standing on stones, so the houses can be moved (rather familiar to Indonesian people). Hang your backpack on a hook in the middle of the bedroom, so the rats cannot come to this peg-like stuff. These houses has about 6-8 beds and a washing-room. The three of us went together around the house all the time at night,... you never know!

Visitors are suggested to bring their own flashlight, mosquitoes cream etc. See >>>
