"HOOIBERG - Mount Haystack" Aruba Things to Do Tip by RoyJava

When going around on Aruba you cannot miss the Hooiberg (or Mount Haystack). Its domination always looms prominently from the middle of Aruba (541 ft/168 m). Hike to its peak on a clear day and, have a possible view across to the Venezuelan coast.

Well, if you want to climb 648 steps up the haystcik ofcourse in the desert heat ... we didn't mind because we went very early in the morning to shoot some fashion pics for the Dutch Harper's Bazar up there ... and those turned out beautiful, see photograph.

Directions:
The best way to get to Hooiberg is to turn right off 4B to the Piedra Plat Protestant Church, then make an immediate right before you enter the churchyard and follow the road to the mountain.
