Fethiye is littered with ancient monuments. Probably the most interesting of the bunch is the Lycian Tomb of Amyntas. This fascinating tomb has been cut out of a rock face just south of the town. It dates from 350B.C.The facade is quite impressive with its Ionic columns. There is nothing to see beyond it however. The views of Fethiye's harbour and the mountains beyond are quite stunning. This makes this site rather popular at sunset. It is a steep climb up the hill to get to it.
The tomb is open daily from 8am to 7pm with an admisssion price of $2.00.
