La Casa de Queso: "This is the Dream of Ratones, they advertise" Buenos Aires Restaurant Tip by cochinjew

Buenos Aires Restaurants: 737 reviews and 763 photos

A friend of mine had agreed to meet at the Abasto Shopping centre. A few minutes walk through it was disgusting enough and she recommended we go to this restaurant for coffee.. They advertise themselves as the dream of the big rats.. becuase of themountains of cheese on display..
For a moment i forgot whether i was in melbourne or capetown or buenos aires.. the ambience of that sparkle, the welcoming music ( joaquin sabina and joan manuel serrat and later a pianist belting out some tango ), attentive service and as always you could sit here and talk and talk and no one bothers you. very large restaurant.. ooddles of cheese and hams hanging, rows of good argentine wine, a long menu as expected..

Favorite Dish: We chose to eat a tapa selection since it was already mid afternoon . The cafe con leche was excellent. catalan spinach with cheese. langostinos. calamari all tapa size and quite tasty.
I recommend this place. if you are ever in abasto shopping centre and please dont eat at the shopping centre.. bland nameless food unless you wish to eat a mcdonalds hambuger KOSHER..
