"Historic Train Trip along the St. Louis River" Duluth Things to Do Tip by smilemn

Duluth Things to Do: 106 reviews and 158 photos

Most people overlook the Lake Superior and Mississippi Historic Train Ride in Duluth. It takes off from West Duluth across from the zoo.

The scenery is awesome! The track runs along the St. Louis Bay. When I took the trip we saw 2 Great Blue Herons, lots of deer, and lots of other critters.

It only goes out on Sat and Sun (plus holidays) during the summer and early fall.

Address: Grand Ave and Fremont, Across from the Zoo
Directions: From downtown-take I-35 south to Grand Ave exit (left exit). Follow Grand Ave approx. 10 blocks. There is a stop light with a "Little
Store" brand convenience gas station. The train leaves from behind the convenience store.
