This is mile 62 of the Teller Hwy in Alaska, outside on Nome. This is what the country side looks like on the Seward Peninsula, except for my backside... sorry folks... the tundra is spongy and moist, and you can see for miles and miles.... Teller Alaska is beyond the next hill. This spot there were salmon berries, the orange colored ones you can see on the ground for about 8 miles, blanketed the whole area... I get very excited to pick berries, and usually do it all day long, bring a snack and some fluids. We managed to pick 15gallons of berries this year. Which are very good frozen with sugar sprinkled on top, the elders like to make eskimo icecream with it or pour cream and sugar over the top, a very good dessert.

Address: Mile 62, Teller Hwy MIDDLE OF NOWHERE
Directions: Seward Peninsula
