Filli Ponte Ristorante: "Italian Food at its Best" Ponte's Ristorante - CLOSED Tip by AliasGirl

This restaurant is called "Pontes" for short amongst us New Yorkers. It is located in a very out of the way locale--Desbrosses Street, two blocks south of Canal Street. Even though I have been there numerous times, I couldn't tell you how to get there. Mapquest it!

Its a huge dining hall with various separate rooms..we enjoyed the lounge for awhile and started on a few drinks..and some really good olives. The soft Italian opera music in the background adds to the ambience!

Once seated, you are immediately brought bread with good OO (olive oil) and some other delicious treats like sausages. We ordered a platter of great antipasti items like proscuitto, aged cheeses, roasted red peppers and olives. Wine selection is wonderful.

Our entrees of pasta, meats and fish were superb. Can't go wrong with any dish on this menu.

Highly recommended!!
